Our initial destination was The District of Columbia, Washington D.C. Once we arrived, it was nighttime. My dad and I had the top down
and we drove around. The nightlife seemed to be lively and fun. After driving around town, we arrived at our hotel. Our hotel
was in perfect walking distance to all of the restaurants and shops in Georgetown. Thank heavens the weather was nice and warm.
Somedays the weather would get super hot. I got a little bit of a tan. My dad showed me around Washington D.C. We went to the National
Mall which was the vicinity in which the monuments and memorials were, Georgetown University, shops, restaurants and a lot of other notable places.
Georgetown
Georgetown University is in the town of Georgetown. George town has many shops and restaurants. During the day, lots of people walk around
the wide sidewalks lined with pink flowers going from shop to shop. The sun hits right on top of Georgetown. The town itself is very cute and old.
There are exquisite tall houses situated next to one another. All of the houses have charm and character. Some houses were white-washed, some
were brick, some had raught iron details, and some had gold accents.
What I Saw, Ate and Learned
I went to many restaurants in D.C. All of the food I ate was exceptional. I tried crab cakes for the first time and I loved them.
Once I came back to St. Louis, I tried crab cakes at a few restaurants; however, none of them compared to the crab cakes I had in D.C.
I also ate lots of other seafood. I had amazing oysters from both east and west coast. I had lobster bisque one night, too. As you can tell,
I ate lots of seafood. My dad and I walked all over the different parts of D.C. He showed me all of the memorials, monuments, and other
noteable places. The monuments were beautifully lit up during the nighttime. I learned a lot from visiting the memorials. I also learned
a lot about the history of Washington D.C. My dad showed me where all of the government officials work and I learned what they do.
